About

Thanks to her multifaceted musical personality, Yudania Gómez Heredia can be seen not only as a conductor of various ensembles, but also as a composer and organist.

She received the scholarship for young female conductors from the Bergische Symphoniker Orchestra Academy for the 24/25 concert season and is part of the Assistant Conductor Scheme of the Chineke! Orchestra.

She made her debut in 2022 with the production "Mid(Summer)night dreams", a collaboration between the Nuremberg State Theater and the University of Music, which focused on chamber operas by contemporary composers. This was followed by other projects such as "Bovary" at the Gostner Hoftheater Nuremberg and musical assistance for the opera "The Love for Three Oranges" at the Fürth City Theater under the direction of Guido Rumstadt.

Yudania has led numerous ensembles, including the Weißenburg Chamber Orchestra, the Neustädter Kantorei Erlangen, the Franconian Chamber Philharmonic, the Regensburg Chamber Orchestra, the String Archestra Berlin, as well as symphonic wind orchestras in Valencia, Spain and in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Growing up in Villa Clara, Cuba, she began her musical training in singing, music theory, choir conducting and composition at the National School of Arts. After training at the Institut Superior of Arts in Havana, she came to Germany in 2015 through a cooperation with the Regensburg University of Church Music.

In Regensburg she studied church music with a focus on organ improvisation with Prof. Markus Rupprecht and Prof. Stefan Baier.

She then completed two master's courses at the Nuremberg University of Music: in choir conducting with Prof. Alfons Brandl and in conducting with Prof. Guido Rumstadt.

Gómez Heredia's appearances at music festivals in recent years include the ION music festival in Nuremberg, the festival for contemporary music of the company Gegenwart Regensburg, the "Days of New Music" Regensburg, the Lugo Music Festival in Spain and the "Semana de la Música sacra" in Havana, Cuba.

Her awards include the 2023 DAAD Prize from the Nuremberg University of Music and the 2014 "Musicalia" composition prize from the Institut Superior of Arts, Havana.
